Direct PCIe evidence

Separate the host link from the network link.

Intel E810-XXVDA2 dual 25GbE adapter has two different links to check: PCIe inside the computer and Ethernet outside it. Start with the host evidence before blaming the cable or switch.

  1. Find the NIC’s current PCI address on Linux. Run the Header7F collector for that address and import the reviewed JSON into the workbench.
  2. Check identity, bound driver, allocated resources and current versus maximum PCIe speed and width. Compare both link partners and a known-good state.
  3. Add relevant, time-bounded AER or IOMMU log lines. Check Ethernet negotiation and traffic separately with the operating system and the NIC’s supported tools.

PCIe speed is not Ethernet speed. Header7F does not measure network throughput, configure the NIC or prove that DMA completed.
