Bridge & host-side correlation
Separate the enclosure path from the SSD.
USB to 2.5-inch SATA adapter puts a bridge between storage and the host. Start with the operating system’s device view, power and cable path; do not treat a USB-attached drive as a native PCIe capture.
- Check the supported drive type, connector, cable and power source. Confirm the external drive is visible in the operating system using its supported storage tools.
- Repeat the symptom with one known-good cable or direct host port. Preserve external drive logs and an independent copy of important data before storage changes.
- If the host’s PCIe USB/Thunderbolt controller is implicated, capture that controller separately in Header7F. A tunneled PCIe device can be inspected only if the host actually enumerates it.
Header7F does not enumerate USB storage or read its SMART, temperature, files or benchmark results. A host-controller capture is not a capture of the SSD behind the bridge.
