Direct PCIe evidence
Check the storage controller before the drives.
StarTech Dual SATA M.2 RAID controller connects through PCIe. Its host controller’s enumeration and link evidence can help separate a host-side problem from the downstream storage path.
- Identify the storage controller’s current PCI address and supported host driver. Capture its Linux metadata with the Header7F collector.
- Import the JSON into the workbench to inspect device visibility, resource allocation, PCIe link context and any relevant reported faults.
- Compare with a known-good capture, then investigate drive power, cables, backplane and controller-specific logs using the manufacturer’s tools.
The evidence describes the PCIe controller. It does not decode SATA/SAS traffic, verify a RAID array or read drive SMART and media-health information.
