SN850X 2TB, installed on a native PCIe path, can expose its own NVMe controller to the Linux evidence workflow. Check that path before treating a slow transfer as a failed SSD.
- Install the drive in a compatible native M.2 slot or passive PCIe carrier. Find the NVMe controller’s current PCI address on Linux.
- Import its collector JSON into the workbench. Review enumeration, driver, resource allocation, both link partners and current versus maximum PCIe values.
- Keep a known-good capture and relevant kernel logs. If configuration reads are suitable for the device, inspect a saved dump in the decoder and compare the same controller before and after the symptom.
This connection applies to a native PCIe installation. Header7F does not read NVMe SMART data, temperatures, SSD contents or benchmark results; a USB enclosure hides this direct path.
