Direct PCIe evidence

Find the drive’s actual PCIe link.

SN5000 2TB, installed on a native PCIe path, can expose its own NVMe controller to the Linux evidence workflow. Check that path before treating a slow transfer as a failed SSD.

  1. Install the drive in a compatible native M.2 slot or passive PCIe carrier. Find the NVMe controller’s current PCI address on Linux.
  2. Import its collector JSON into the workbench. Review enumeration, driver, resource allocation, both link partners and current versus maximum PCIe values.
  3. Keep a known-good capture and relevant kernel logs. If configuration reads are suitable for the device, inspect a saved dump in the decoder and compare the same controller before and after the symptom.

This connection applies to a native PCIe installation. Header7F does not read NVMe SMART data, temperatures, SSD contents or benchmark results; a USB enclosure hides this direct path.
