Instrument & timing method
Capture the edges that explain the stall.
Digilent Digital Discovery can support an external digital-signal investigation in its own capture software. Header7F’s timing examples help define what to look for before taking a capture.
- Choose signals that are physically exposed and within the analyzer’s documented voltage limits. Set a suitable sample rate and a shared ground in its own software.
- Use Header7F’s backpressure guide to distinguish an offered transfer from an accepted one. Internal AXI signals require suitable exported debug pins or an FPGA internal analyzer.
- Keep probe mapping, thresholds, sample settings and the raw capture with the design revision. Compare the observed behavior with the synthetic examples without treating them as a hardware reference capture.
Header7F does not control the analyzer or import its native captures. Sampling can miss edges, and a logic analyzer does not establish analog signal integrity or PCIe compliance.
