Simulation & bench method
Make the first handshake visible.
Digilent Nexys A7-100T is a USB-programmed development board, rather than a PCIe add-in card. Start with a small known-good design, then make your own interface behavior easy to inspect.
- Use the board’s documented programming flow, correct data cable and voltage limits. First confirm a known-good LED or UART design with the vendor tools.
- For an AXI design, use Header7F’s address/data and backpressure guides to plan separate AW/W arrivals and held responses. Observe internal signals with simulation or the FPGA vendor’s logic analyzer.
- Compare your observations with the labelled synthetic timing examples. Save the design revision, constraints, clock/reset setup and exact failing stimulus so the behavior can be replayed.
Header7F does not program this board or connect to USB, JTAG or its internal analyzer. The example trace monitor uses the documented trace format; the site does not import arbitrary instrument captures.
